MyColdwater.com 2022-23 Vision

MyColdwater.com vision for 2022

Hi, I'm Kevin North, creator of MyColdwater.com. My vision is not only to help unite the community of Coldwater with event listings and a great business directory, but also to continue to fight for freedom on the Internet and teach others to do the same. I was on the sidelines of this fight until the pandemic changed everything, and at that point I felt compelled to use my computer talents to get involved, including the creation of the CACO page on this website. I am pleased to report victories: Most oppressive pandemic restrictions have been lifted, and Big Tech's censorship has been called out.

Long term, there's still more to do. One thing that alarms me is that there are so many people who use the MyColdwater.com Facebook group but have no idea that there's also a real website. Further, over the last year or so I've lost all my advertisers. I don't care about the money; I was only making enough to break even anyway. No, what concerns me is that people are using Facebook as their sole source of information. People should never get all their information from a single source, yet Big Tech companies like Google and Facebook continue to use their might to offer the answers to everything. For example, people Google "ProMedica Coldwater" and instantly get the phone number and other info that Google has used AI to gather, and there's no need to go to either MyColdwater.com or ProMedica's website. People rely on this AI technology too much. This year I'm trying to figure out a way to reinvent MyColdwater.com to encourage users to go back to a free, open Internet of independent websites rather than everything controlled by a single "platform."

Exactly how to do this I don't know yet, but you can be sure I'm working on it! In the meantime, thank you for coming to this website, and I hope you get a great benefit from it. All for free as a service to my wonderful community, no questions asked.

Sincerely,

Kevin North
