Coldwater Strawberryfest &
Craft Show 2010
The 2010 Strawberryfest (June 19th),
sponsored by the Downtown
Business Association, was another jam-packed event. There was a
threat of rain in the forecast, and the night before there was a severe
thunderstorm that hit Coldwater with 60 MPH winds, marble sized
hail,
and many power outages to those who lived just outside of the city. It
was also forecast to be hot -- mid 80s. But a nice wind blew away the
hot, damp air and made for a very pleaseant day.
Construction barrels from the downtown
beautification project did not hinder the event, and South Monroe
Street was utilized for extra space. WTVB did a live broadcast.
The strawberries were again a hot seller. Fortunately, there was a
greater supply this year.
Fresh, yummy strawberries!
The craft tents all had constant traffic.
Greg Brayton performed live at the Lamp Post Christian Bookstore.
Overcoming blindness, this Coldwater singer and songwriter is extremely
gifted.
All the parking lots filled up fast - many had to park 2 blocks away.
The Oasis of Love Church once again held a kids festival, including
bounce house.
New this year was a Caterpillar crawl.
A huge rummage sale was at the newly-designated Eby-Klein center to
benefit a missions trip to Mexico.
Lots of people look over all the merchandise.
