The weather was great for this year's Civil War Days / Memorial Day Weekend. MyColdwater.com wishes to thank all who volunteered and all who participated to make this event a big success. A huge 2009 photo album has been posted on the official Civil War Days web site; click here to view it.

On April 15th (tax day), concerned Branch County residents got together at a "Tea Party" rally at the Four Corners to protest the U.S. government's unprecedented increase in spending and inevitable tax increases. Surprisingly, over 300 people turned out. Click here to view photos from the event.

Here's a picture of our surprise overnight snowfall. It was supposed to be rain, but we actually got several inches of heavy, wet snow. I was woken up in the middle of the night by a CBPU crew using a chainsaw to tackle a tree that had fallen over onto Pierce Street. By the looks of the current forecast, we might again have a very snowy Good Friday.

In the last two days fast progress has been made on the new water tower, going from a half dome to almost a complete dome. This picture was taken Friday afternoon from the Comfort Inn parking lot (facing east). The new water tower has also been featured on cable channel 22 with CBPU engineers being interviewed. The purpose of the new tower is to increase water pressure for homes and businesses on the east side of I-69.

A second MyColdwater.com blog has been started: A new blog with tips on how to save money from groceries to entertainment. For example, you can buy food boxes from the Coldwater Nazarene Church's Angel Food ministry to save a lot of money each month on groceries (the program is open to everyone).
