Virtual tour photos updated http://www.mycoldwater.com/cgi-bin/blog/index.cgi?mode=viewone&blog=1227270383 I completed the Fall 2008 photo update this week. Updated photos have been posted for these regions: S1, E1, E18. Higher quality photos have been posted for E57 and E59. Three new regions have been added: S11, S12, and D43. Regions D38 and D39 have been combined into a single region D39 due to the razed building. Finally, a new photo has been posted for D48 which I had accidentally omitted (and no one reported it to me). The 2008 MyColdwatercom Halloween parade float http://www.mycoldwater.com/cgi-bin/blog/index.cgi?mode=viewone&blog=1225111919 The Coldwater Jaycees 2008 Halloween Parade was another big success. All week long rain was threatened, but at the last minute the forecast changed, and it was a little cold and windy but dry for the parade. I don't have a photo album for this event this time because I was in the event. The photo at right shows this year's MyColdwater.com float. I heard a lot of "good job!" cheers as we drove by everyone along Chicago Street... thanks again, Coldwater, for all your support! Halloween parade is coming http://www.mycoldwater.com/cgi-bin/blog/index.cgi?mode=viewone&blog=1224555378 Yes! MyColdwater.com will be participating again in the Jaycee's annual Halloween parade. This year I'm borrowing a pickup and will have more costumed friends with me, so be sure to look for us. The photo at right is my van as decorated for the 2007 parade, which was the MyColdwater.com kick-off event. This means we're coming up on the MyColdwater.com one year anniversary... thanks, Coldwater, for all your support! Benefit garage sale a huge success http://www.mycoldwater.com/cgi-bin/blog/index.cgi?mode=viewone&blog=1223196395 Thank you, Coldwater, for making the Beginnings Care for Life Center benefit garage sale a huge success! My wife and I ran the sale, and many people from our church donated items. We made $587 to donate to the Center! Click here to see more photo memories of this event. Applefest 2008 photos posted http://www.mycoldwater.com/cgi-bin/blog/index.cgi?mode=viewone&blog=1222110585 Last Saturday's Applefest was amazing... downtown was jammed with people. MyColdwatercom sponsors sprint car http://www.mycoldwater.com/cgi-bin/blog/index.cgi?mode=viewone&blog=1220270985 MyColdwater.com is now a proud sponsor of Quimby Motor Sports, home of Ken Quimby's 9Q sprint car. Ken has been racing regularly at Butler Motor Speedway for a number of years, and as of August 23rd is now racing for Coldwater and MyColdwater.com. This fact is now announced prominently to thousands of people at each race. The 9Q car did extremely well in its first race for MyColdwater.com... click here for details! Old Snyders building razed http://www.mycoldwater.com/cgi-bin/blog/index.cgi?mode=viewone&blog=1220008133 When I had originally reported in Business News / What's Changing that Synders had moved to an adjacent building, I couldn't figure it out. Why go through all the trouble of moving if only to another building in the same plaza, especially if the new location isn't any larger and it's less prominent? A week later I drove by and was totally surprised when the old building was... completely gone! Well, that explains it. It's still curious that the landlord would find it cheaper to raze the old building and convert it, presumably, to parking, rather than try to find new tenants for the old building. But it probably will look nice and less "cramped" once this de-construction project is finished. High school football Saver Card http://www.mycoldwater.com/cgi-bin/blog/index.cgi?mode=viewone&blog=1219258856 Here's something really neat: A fund raiser card for the high school football team. One of the football players knocked on my door last night and I bought one for $10. These cards not only support the team, but you also get discounts at a bunch of local businesses when you present the card (e.g., 10% off dinner at Coldwater Garden, 10% off any purchase at Tasty Twist, etc.). Plus, you can use the card over and over again for a full year. So the card is a way for the community to support local businesses as well as the Cardinals. Go Cardinals!! The football team's web page is very short and doesn't have information about the cards, so I made a new page here on MyColdwater.com where you can check out all the details... click here to see it. New region N22 http://www.mycoldwater.com/cgi-bin/blog/index.cgi?mode=viewone&blog=1218648475 To help organize better the businesses at Fairfield Plaza, I've split region N12 into N12 and N22, and I've added a new photo for N22. Now the businesses should line up better, and you won't have to guess "what's around the corner." Taco Bell final stages http://www.mycoldwater.com/cgi-bin/blog/index.cgi?mode=viewone&blog=1218592765 The Taco Bell drive-thru is now closed as they complete the final stages of the remodel. I believe it is reopening later this month. Finally, the building is starting to take shape and look like something cool.
