Washington St. torn up
Image for Entry 1246276842By last Thursday, the bridge on Angola Rd. was fixed. Now Washington St. (the entire length) is torn up for a scheduled CBPU water main upgrade project. This is going to take a while due to the scale of the project, but hopefully not too long. If you need to use Washington as a through street try Pearl instead.

New water tower complete
Image for Entry 1244633547Roughly a month ago the new Coldwater water tower was finished (at least the tower itself, not necessarily the full hook-up to the water system). This picture was taken May 29. Simple, attractive... looks like the Coldwater Board of Public Utilities has chosen to keep it plain and not put "Coldwater" or any logo on it. The more controversial issue, though, is the City of Coldwater's decision to speculatively purchase 65 acres of land north of the new water tower for $525,000. The city hopes to use the land to promote a research and development business park. The CBPU is loaning the city the money. Let's hope the plan works!
