As predicted, the old mini gas station on Marshall St. (across the street from Felpausch) was razed today. They were still working on clean-up when this picture was taken at 2:25pm. Now we'll wait to see what happens next.
The new, popular Buffalo Wild Wings restaurant has greatly increased the amount of traffic at the strip mall that it's in (the strip mall with Super Grand Buffet, Centennial Wireless and Papa Murphy's), so you are now prohibited from making a left turn onto Willowbrook using the original exit. Instead, the driveway at the far end (Buffalo Wild Wings end) has been widened to permit 2-way traffic, and you can easily drive out the back and turn either way onto Willowbrook. This is a huge improvement to the previously "cramped" strip mall.
The mystery continues at the old mini gas station on Marshall St. It's been sitting empty for years. Last year they repaved the lot but didn't do anything else and they put up a "for sale - brokers protected" sign. Now they've taken off the boarded up area and it looks like they're going to raze it. They haven't done it yet as of Saturday but since this photo was taken they did remove some of the equipment of value like the soda fountain machine. So... is the lot sold? Are they trying things to sell it? Are they looking for tax write-offs? Time will tell...
