"Remember the Alamo" Car Cruise
2008

The Four Corners downtown marked the
beginning of the "Remember the Alamo" Car Cruise, sponsored by the Downtown
Business Association. A police car blocks the special cruising
lane. The cruise was held on July 26 and lasted all afternoon and
evening.

We're now heading west on Chicago
St. (U.S. 12) - the cruise begins! Here you can see the special lanes -
the middle lanes are for regular traffic, and the outer lanes are for
classic cars.

Every parking spot downtown was
filled by a classic car - perfect for walking the sidewalks and
admiring them. In this picture you can also see the special entrance to
the classic car cruising lane.

Classic cars also could be found on
the closed-off side streets.

The cruise continues! (By the way, I
took these photos from the passenger side of my car while my wife
drove, in case you're wondering about my safety.)

Still more cars...

Another side street was jammed with
classic cars.

This parking lot was full of classic
cars.
Now it's time for some close-ups of some of the cars:

"Art at the Park" tent sales were
held simultaneously at the Four Corners.

Downtown businesses held "Midnight
Madness" sidewalk sales into the evening.
