Coldwater Applefest &
Craft Show 2008
It was a beautiful, sunny day for
the 2008 Applefest (September 20th), sponsored by the Downtown
Business Association. The temperature was just right - about
80°F - which was identical to the weather for the Strawberryfest
earlier in the summer. In fact, with the locally grown produce,
sidewalk tent sales, and fun stuff for the kids, the event is almost
identical to the Strawberryfest. However, the turnout was even larger,
as the downtown was packed with people, and every downtown parking
space was taken!
People swarm the sidewalk tent sales
downtown.
Tents, tents, and more tents!
All kinds of things were for sale,
including lots of arts and crafts.
... and, of course, lots of apples
were for sale from nearby orchards.
Families had fun with the horse and
buggy rides down Chicago Street.
Arthur Brogli returned again from
Tekonsha to entertain the crowds with his accordion and yodeling.
The Oasis of
Love Family Church
continued
their tradition of having a carnival with games for the kids. Free
snacks were also provided.
