I arrived downtown with the family this morning at 11:30am, along with lots of other people, with good weather (not super windy or cold), and... where were the ice sculptures? I inquired at one of the local businesses and discovered that the ice was delivered very early this morning, and the workers also arrived on time, but for some reason no work was started until 11 (the Ice Fest began at 10). So by noon only two sculptures were complete. WTVB was there but then apparently left. But State Farm helped save the morning with its cute Teddy Bear and ice scraper giveaway; Wal-Mart's semi truck was also there as well as a dog rescue. My guess is that there was a bit of miscommunication, which was promptly corrected after lunch when the pace picked up and more workers were out and larger crowds gathered to watch the work. The day was saved!
