Donate blood and you might literally help save someone's life. The need for blood is always greater than the supply. When you donate, it feels great, you get free juice and cookies, and you ensure that blood is on the shelf when people need it. On the day of the blood drive, it helps to drink plenty of fluids and to wear clothing with sleeves that can easily be rolled up above the elbow. Bring a list of medications you are taking, a driver's license, and two other forms of ID (or a blood donor card). A standard blood donation takes about an hour (actual draw is about 10 minutes of that time). Please visit the American Red Cross web site for lots of additional helpful information.
